The Line Cook is responsible for prepping ingredients and assembling dishes according to the restaurant’s recipes and specifications. The Line Cook must be hard-working, able to work in a fast-paced environment, be a team player, have a positive attitude, an attention to detail and a natural sense of urgency. Timeliness is crucial in this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow a given recipe and prepare various menu items using different methods and kitchen equipment such as fryolators and grills.
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
- Understand and adhere to company’s policies and processes, cooking methods, and standard portion sizes.
- Maintain a safe working environment by using proper food handling skills and following food safety guidelines and sanitation regulations.
- Stock inventory appropriately.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Proven cooking experience, including as restaurant prep cook.
Skills/Qualifications
- ServSafe certification a plus.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work 8 hour shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use hands to handle or touch, use fingers to pinch or grasp.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment
- Floor may be slippery in areas.
