The Freezer/Warehouse Loader/Checker is responsible for loading product onto trucks for delivery to customers and checking product while loading to ensure correct quantities and product are loaded. This position operates a variety of warehouse/material handling equipment including forklifts and hand trucks. This shift starts at 7pm and goes until the job is done.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Load product onto trucks in pre-determined order.
- Check product to ensure correct quantities and product are being loaded.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 – 3 years relevant warehouse and receiving experience.
- 1 – 3 years distribution experience preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts, hand-trucks, reach trucks.
- Experience operating wire guided stock picker preferred.
Skills/Qualifications
- Ability to operate warehouse and material handling equipment, including, but not limited to, forklifts and hand trucks.
- Must be able to read English.
- Strong math skills.
- Must be organized and accurate.
- Must have strong multi-tasking and follow-through skills. Must be able to follow multiple directions.
- Proven ability to accurately meet deadlines under pressure.
- Must be a team player.
- Must work well unsupervised and be self-motivated.
Physical Demands
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to see, hear and talk. Vision requirements include: close, distance, color and peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
- Constantly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend, reach above head and lift from ground.
- Frequently required to climb or balance, push, steer, and manipulate small and large objects.
- Ability to repetitively push and pull 4-wheeled carts on an hourly basis.
- Occasionally required to operate machinery.
Work Environment
- Work near moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to extreme cold (negative 20°) in a freezer environment.
- Extensive and heavy warehouse environment.
- Exposure to icy floor conditions.
- Exposure to loud noises.
Salary:
Compensation for this position will be determined based on experience, education, and other relevant factors.
