Position Details

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for monitoring and controlling inventory stocks and conducting accurate daily, weekly and monthly inventory counts per established company guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control inventory stocks to ensure inventory is properly located within the warehouse.
  • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inventory counts per guidelines.
  • Research, document and resolve inventory discrepancies using all available resources
  • Track and report all non-conforming product.
  • Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to optimize location and item level accuracy.
  • Comply with all established safety rules and practices.
  • Follow standard operating procedures while performing job.
  • Perform related work duties and meet or exceed minimum performance requirements.
  • Keep supervisor informed of job-related problems.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by advocating safety training, accident preparedness and prevention, and compliance with company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations. Ensure adherence to proper safety and sanitation regulations and the appropriate policies/procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with peers, team and senior management.
  • Ensure that distribution center is clean and organized.
  • May be required to operate various types of industrial material handling equipment including powered lift trucks.
  • Adhere to all management direction, OSHA, DOT, and applicable laws.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and processes.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) plus years inventory control experience.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and manual dexterity.
  • High energy, self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Ability to understand written material.
  • Strong math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and off shifts as needed.
  • Ability to operate various classes of powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and obtain certification within 30 days of employment.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to see, hear and talk. Vision requirements include: close, distance, color and peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
  • Constantly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend, reach above head and lift from ground.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance, push, steer, and manipulate small and large objects.
  • Ability to repetitively push and pull 4-wheeled carts on an hourly basis.
  • Occasionally required to operate machinery.

Work Environment

  • Work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Exposure to extreme cold (negative 20°) in a freezer environment.
  • Extensive and heavy warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to icy floor conditions.
  • Exposure to loud noises.

Salary:

Compensation for this position will be determined based on experience, education, and other relevant factors.
