The Maintenance Technician position for Bliss MicroCreamery is responsible for performing required maintenance and repair on building and equipment as scheduled or as needed during processing hours. The maintenance technician will report to Maintenance Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform planned PM’s, maintenance inspections/repairs as required.
• Perform emergency repairs and adjustments while line is running in a SAFE timely and efficient manner.
• Modify/fabricate equipment to maintain and improve the production process.
• General building maintenance to include basic repairs, light carpentry, and other tasks as assigned
• Installation of new equipment to improve current production processes
• Maintain the facility and equipment to ensure maximum reliability.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 – 5 years of mechanic experience within an industrial maintenance environment
• Technical training is preferred but not required
• Experience with mechanical or industrial mechanical systems Ability to read and understand instructional manuals
• Experience in the Food Manufacturing Industry an advantage
• Experience with welding/fabrication, pneumatics, hydraulics

Skills/Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of processing and packaging equipment.
• The ability to prepare and perform preventive maintenance plans as well as to troubleshoot and repair processing and packaging equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Understanding of working with plumbing, plastic, copper and black iron
• Machining skills to include, hand tools, drills, pipe threading and grinders
• Ability to perform minor carpentry
• Ability to perform tig welding is a plus
• Computer skills including using Excel and Word
• Ability to work with a team with an organized and methodical approach
• Ability to effectively communicate (both written and oral).
• Ability to read and troubleshoot schematics at basic level
• Quality orientation and high attention to detail
• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
• Strong teamwork skills- ready and willing to work closely with team members
• Understanding of Maintenance Managements Systems, CMMS is preferred.
• Ability to communicate well with coworkers, Engineering, EHS, and Production.
• Mechanical aptitude, resourcefulness and creativity
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment, recommend and perform equipment repairs
• Ability to prioritize work assignments and adjust to changing situations.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Salary:

Compensation for this position will be determined based on experience, education, and other relevant factors.
