Warehouse Porter, 1st Shift

The 1st Shift Warehouse/Freezer Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment in our frozen distribution center. The porter will also assist in managing broken cases and damaged product. This position operates a variety of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and hand trucks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clear freezer aisles of stretch wrap, cardboard, pallet debris, etc.
• Repack broken cartons.
• Restock returned product.
• Conducts inventory of and manages breakage.
• May assist with picking customer orders.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Relevant warehouse and receiving experience a plus
• Experience operating pallet jacks, hand-trucks a plus
• Experience operating balers and compactors a plus

Skills/Qualifications

• Ability to operate warehouse and material handling equipment, including, but not limited to, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Must be able to read English.
• Must be organized and accurate.
• Must have strong multi-tasking and follow-through skills. Must be able to follow multiple directions.
• Must be a team player.
• Must work well unsupervised and be self-motivated.

Physical Demands

• Ability to constantly lift up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Work near moving mechanical parts in a warehouse environment.
• Exposure to extreme cold (negative 20°) in a freezer environment.
• Exposure to icy floor conditions.
• Exposure to loud noises.
